with May
Rooted, spiraling movement at Magic Island — every Thursday and Saturday morning.
Each 90-minute session follows a traditional progression, from warm-up through form practice to grounding close.
Gentle joint rotations and stretching to awaken the body.
Classical qigong form of eight standing exercises.
The original, foundational form of Tai Chi — slow spirals alternating with bursts of energy.
Partnered practice in sensitivity, balance, and yielding.
Gentle tapping and acupressure to close the session.
There is a particular quality to morning air at Magic Island — open lawn, ocean breeze, a world still easing into motion. Chen-style Tai Chi meets that quiet directly, its slow, coiling movement and grounded stances drawing the body into focus rather than jolting it awake.
Held every Thursday and Saturday, 8–9:30 AM, and open to all levels, each class is taught by May, who brings her own dedication to the practice alongside her husband, Wang Guolong — building strength, balance, and focus through form. No prior experience required, and you’re welcome to join any week.
